Based in Brooklyn, New York, Jay Dee is a NYS Certified Addiction Recovery Coach and a member of The International Coach Federation and The International Mindfulness Teacher Association. His relationship with meditation began with his involvement in the recovery community in 1986 and was introduced to mindfulness meditation in 2008. Trained with The Mindfulness Institute as a mindfulness teacher by Mark Coleman and Martin Aylward, in addition to teaching classes he offers one on one sessions on mindfulness meditation, individual and corporate life coaching, and addiction recovery, in person or online. He is trained in harm reduction or abstinence models and relapse prevention and is available as a sober companion. Besides having decades of experience staying sober in high pressure situations, he also offers individuals from all walks of life help identifying and meeting self-established goals in an enthusiastic, optimistic and solution oriented process whether it’s the workplace, relationships, recovery or everyday life.
Using mindfulness meditation, self-acceptance and compassion practices, Jay Dee establishes a safe and sacred space for clients to explore and clarify their issues and meet their objectives. He is a an Associate Coach at Dr. Stephen Dansiger’s Start Again Associates and consultant to The School For Compassionate Action, an organization providing training to integrate mindfulness into personal and professional life. In addition, he has also sustained a four-decade career as an influential musician, songwriter and producer and has been nominated to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
